Rose Smith

Our beloved mother Rose Ann Smith passed from this world on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026. Rose Ann was born to William and Barbara Smith in Green Creek, NJ. Rose Ann was a lover of nature, animals, and traveling. She rescued so many dogs, even giving her heart to special hospice dogs when they needed her the most. She loved the beach and spent her summers growing up going to the beach in Wildwood, NJ, and even worked on the boardwalk. She traveled all over the world; she especially loved Australia, London, and Alaska! She lived in Colorado for more than 20 years and loved exploring the mountains with her dogs. Rose Ann was an RN for more than 30 years and loved her job, giving her life to helping others and saving lives. Rose Ann had a wild sense of humor and told the most hilarious stories; if you met her, you probably remember an ER story!

She is survived and remembered by her spouse, John Loria, and two children, Kristin Vossler (Chris) and Ryan Hanagan (Jen), as well as her stepchildren, John Paul Loria and Domenica Loria, brother David (Brittany) Smith, sisters Barbara Smith Groves (Scott) and Vivian Nestico, and brother Jimmy Dempsey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Rose Ann's name to your local animal shelter; she would have wanted everyone to support your local animals in need.

A celebration of Rose Ann's life will be held at a later date, and details will be shared at that time.
