Roger Dow

Mr. Roger A. Dow age 76 of Gainesville passed away suddenly Thursday, June 20, 2024, at North Florida Hospital. He was born July 15, 1947, in Jacksonville to the late Richard and Erma (Russell) Dow and served in the United States Army. Mr. Dow worked for the Florida Department of Corrections as a supervisor prior to retiring following 23 years of employment . He was a member of City Light Church in Gainesville and was an avid Florida Gator sports fan. He also enjoyed fishing, and staying active until his health declined, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Dow is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Kathleen “Kathy” (Chaffin) Dow of Gainesville and their children Jim Dow (Suzanne) of Springfield, Virginia, Melissa Dow (Brett), and Robert Dow all of Gainesville. Also left behind are two precious grandchildren Katherine and Maxwell. A memorial service for Mr. Dow will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at City Light Church in Gainesville with interment at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
