Lois Hunter

Lois Hunter, age 81 of Gainesville passed away at Aspire of North Florida Sunday, January 5, 2025, following an extended illness. She was born June 29, 1943, in Chiefland to John and Ellen (Mooney) Hunter. Prior to retirement she was employed many years with Hawes Chrysler Plymouth as their Service Writer/Advisor. Ms. Hunter was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and loved being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Shannon Smith; siblings Johnny Hunter, Doris Hurley, and LR Hunter. Left behind to cherish her memory is a daughter Rhonda Purvis, brother Ernest Hunter, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of MILAM FUNERAL HOME, INC., 311 s.
