Ley Heyward Parker Obituary (2007) - Gainesville, Florida

PARKER, LEY HEYWARD, homemaker, age 84, of Gainesville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in Gainesville, FL. She attended Florida State College for Women where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. At age twenty she married Charles Parker who was a USMC dive-bomber pilot in the Pacific during WWII and was also a fighter pilot in the Korean War. She moved to Gainesville from Miami in 1989 to be close to her children and grand- children. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Family and friends were the focus of her life, and she possessed a terrific sense of humor. She was, in every sense of the word, a Lady. She is survived by her son, C. Richard Parker, and daughter- in-law, Kathryn Parker of Gainesville; grandchildren, Rhett Conlon Parker, Alison Ley Parker, Tracey Lynne Parker, Laura Jean Cramer, and Thomas H. P. Fucini; great-grand- children, Kendal Nicole Cramer and Shane Cash Cramer. She is preceded in death by husband, Colonel Charles Parker (USMC, Ret.) in 2004, and son, Thomas Heyward Parker in 2005. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2007, 11:30 AM at Milam Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Johnson officiating.
