Kenneth Clarkson Boone, 59, passed away in his home in Gainesville, Florida on 28 July, 2026.
Kenneth was born 17 February, 1967 in Wayne County, North Carolina to Rhonda Clarkson and Kenneth Eugene Montgomery II, with the given name of Kenneth Eugene Montgomery III, after his father.
At age 6, Kenneth was legally adopted by Daniel Lewis Boone and Carolyn Frary Boone, and his name was changed to Kenneth Clarkson Boone.
Growing up as an “Army Brat”, Kenneth attended schools at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Hagerstown, Maryland, Lake Placid, Florida, and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville.
In May 1986, he enlisted in the US Army. After his Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, he was sent to the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Presidio of Monterey, California where he learned Russian Morse Code. He spent much of his time in the Army intercepting and interpreting messages from Russia as the Cold War ended.
As his six-year enlistment in the Army ended, Kenneth returned to Gainesville, Florida where he worked in food service management for Pizza Hut and Quiznos for many years. He was fascinated with learning, though he never matriculated from his alma mater. He loved Star Wars and the Sci-Fi genre, and he was an avid participant in online gaming. He had a small circle of friends, but he was known as a generous man, and often helped others.
Kenneth was married twice and is survived by his daughter, Jessica, from his first marriage. He had five daughters from his second marriage who went on to be adopted themselves. He is predeceased by his adopted father, and leaves behind his adopted mother, four sisters, and a brother. He will be missed.
His internment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on 20 August, 2026 at 1300 hours with Military Honors.
