Helen Eudora Silliman-Shalna Obituary (1920

Helen Eudora Silliman-Shalna, 97, of Williston, died Friday, June 29, 2018 at Parklands Care Center. She was born July 12, 1920 Brookfield, N.Y. Helen was united in marriage to George Shalna in November 1938; he preceded her in death. She retired from Tacachale and continued working as a caregiver to countless others with love and kindness. Helen was loved by all who knew her. She took special joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved flowers and gardening. Helen will sadly be missed by her daughter, Martha Sikes and granddaughter, Heather Shalna both of Williston; great-granddaughter, Larissa Whitehead-Cherry (Tim Cherry)and great-granddaughter, Maliah Cherry, all of North Carolina; granddaughter-in-law, Jody Shalna, great-grandsons, Andy and Gage Shalna and great-great-grandson, Clayton all of Satsuma.; sons, William of Canastota, N.Y. and Anthony Shalna of New York (Tammy, Howard, Delores, Eric and grandchildren); grandsons, Barney, William and Mitchell of Marion County and their children and grandchildren; grandchildren, David and Carolee of New York and their children and grandchildren and Michelle Martin-Breen of New York. She is survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Leroy David and Robert Edward; grandson, Bradley Maynard and brother, Gordon Frank Silliman. A private service was held.
