Gary Brumett, II

Gary Lynn Brumett II, 48, of Gainesville, FL, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, March 22 following a medical emergency.

Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, Gary was raised in Dalton, Georgia and was a 1995 graduate of Dalton High School. Gary made Gainesville home, and the city allowed him to pursue his two greatest passions: cooking and music. Gary was a talented bass player, playing in local bands and recording his own music.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Gary Lynn Brumett, and his grandparents.
Gary is survived by his parents, Thomas and Judy, sisters Sarah and Lilly (Seth), and brother Hunter (Caitlin) as well as nieces Lainey and Isla and nephew, Henry. Gary was loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers. He will be forever missed by his beloved cat, Frankenstein.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Upbeat GNV or your local humane society.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Scott Shillington, as well as coworkers, bystanders, and emergency personnel for their efforts. We are grateful that he was surrounded by people who cared.
