David Buchanan

Dr. David Wesley Buchanan age 91 of Gainesville passed away Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born May 15, 1933, in Beckley, West Virginia to Henry and Mary (Collier) Buchanan. Dr. Buchann retired following 30 years of employment as a Research Professor from the University of Florida in 1995. He enjoyed being a horticulturist, a member of the Gainesville Kiwanians Club and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Joyce Buchanan and their son David Wayne Buchanan. Dr. Buchanan is survived by his son Marcus Buchanan and his husband Ronald Ciancarelli of Yukon, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at Milam Funeral Home on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5 – 7p.m. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Pineview Cemetery in Interlachen.
