David Bowling

David Wayne Bowling, age 73, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in Gainesville, FL, after a prolonged health battle. He was born on January 8, 1953, in London, Kentucky, son of the late Clay Bowling and Alberta Deaton Bowling.
He graduated from Laurel County High School in 1971 where he was a multi-sport athlete then went on to graduate from the University of Kentucky with a Business degree in 1975. He worked the entirety of his professional career in the insurance industry, relocating from Kentucky to Gainesville, FL in 1985, where he resided until his death. David was a captivating storyteller; his laughter filled the room lifting everyone around him. He had tremendous pride in his family, his home state of Kentucky, and stood firm in his faith in Jesus Christ to the very end.
David is survived by his wife Linda Bowling; his sons Josh (Heather) Bowling and Jonathan (Kristen) Bowling; his grandchildren, Graham, Harper, Brixton, Brylee and Brady; his mother, Alberta Bowling; sister Ronda Durham; brother Steve (Darlene) Bowling; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The memorial service to remember and honor David Wayne will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 1:00pm at Laurel River Missionary Baptist Church in London, KY.
