Calvin Keith Gunter

Calvin Keith Gunter, known affectionately as Keith by friends and family, was born on April 1, 1960, in Gainesville, Florida, and passed away on June 30, 2025. He spent the last five years of his life in Alachua, Florida, where he was a beloved member of the community. Keith was a devoted husband to Laura Gunter, whom he married on February 6, 2015. He was a proud father and grandfather, and a cherished brother. Keith was a hardworking man who spent many years dedicating his time and skills to Gunter Flooring, a hardwood flooring business in Jacksonville, Florida.

Keith's love for his family was evident in the joy he found in his grandchildren: Jacob, Landon, Brantley, and Elizabeth. He was the loving father and stepfather of Brian Gunter, Kimberly Gunter, Rebecca (Chris) Bowman, and Dillyn (Krystal) Canterbury. Keith is also survived by his siblings Francis Williams, Glenn Hessler, Alan (Lou) Gunter, Vicki Gunter, Sharon Simmons, and Troy Busey. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Francis Gunter, and his sister, Alice Busey.

Beyond his family, Keith found happiness in hunting, gardening, and enjoying the bounties of the sea, particularly fish and shrimp. His spirit will be remembered by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Keith on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Gainesville Abundant Life Church of God of Prophecy, 4700 SE Hawthorne Road, Gainesville, Florida, 32641.
