Brook Cross Obituary (1983 - 2025) - Gainesville, Florida

Brook William Cross, 41, of Gainesville, FL, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2025. Born on September 29, 1983, in Gainesville, FL, Brook was a blessing to this world and his family—a beautiful son with a beautiful soul. His parents, Bill Cross and Karin Sallent, are forever grateful for the time God gave them with him and for the love he brought into their lives. A proud graduate of Jupiter High School, Brook was a natural athlete who went on to play baseball at Florida Gulf Coast University and later became a mentor to many as a coach at Suncoast Community High School. Among his proudest coaching moments was guiding his own brother, shaping both his skills and creating lifelong memories through their shared joy for the love of the game. A true handyman, there wasn’t a thing Brook couldn’t fix, and if you needed something done, he was always there to help. He had a special love for fishing and somehow always caught something on that last and final cast. More than anything, Brook lived for his children, Kasen and Ryleigh. Being their father was his greatest pride, and every moment he spent with them was filled with love and will be cherished. He is survived by his loving wife, Brittany Cross; his beloved children, Kasen and Ryleigh Cross; his stepson, Landon McCullough; his parents, Bill Cross (Lynda Cross) and Karin Sallent (Jorge Sallent); his brothers, Landon Cross, Jordi Sallent, and Austen Sallent; his sister, Taylor Cross; and many loving extended family members. Brook was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
