Anthony Thomas Amendola

–

Gainesville, Florida

With a spirited soul and an adventurous heart, Anthony Thomas Amendola, also known as "Buddy" to those who knew him, left this world on May 11, 2024. Born on May 6, 1943, in Dover, NJ, Buddy's love of life and his ambitious spirit was as infectious. A creative soul, Buddy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was fly fishing in a trout filled river, delving into local history, or inspiring others to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

Buddy’s zest for life led him to a career as an entrepreneur. He took pride in his work, always going the extra mile to ensure those he helped were satisfied. He was also an active member of the Assumption Society in Netcong, New Jersey, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Buddy was also a military Veteran of the United States Navy.

Buddy leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. He is survived by his son, Tony Amendola, and his daughter-in-law, Diane Amendola; his daughter, Alissa Armstrong; his brother, Joe Amendola; and his grandchildren, Krystal Armstrong, Justin Rios, Tatianna Amendola, and Grayson Amendola. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Margaret Amendola as well as his former wife and mother of his children Elva "Punky" Amendola.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Milam Funeral and Cremation Services at 311 S. Main Street for their compassionate care during this difficult time. Buddy's life will be celebrated with a private service reflecting his adventurous spirit and love of life. We invite you to share your memories and photos of Buddy on his memorial page. As we remember the life of this extraordinary man.
